Dr. Dre Honored with Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Legendary hip-hop producer and mogul Dr. Dre has been officially recognized with a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony took place on Tuesday (Mar. 19) at 6840 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles, CA, where Dre accepted the honor in the recording category.

Expressing his gratitude to his supporters throughout the years, the 59-year-old Compton native reflected on the journey and expressed his appreciation for the continued support. “Most of us have grown up together,” Dre remarked. “And at nearly 60 years old, you’re still rocking with me, and I really appreciate that. Thank you so much. Which is really good, because I’m nowhere near done. You better believe there’s a lot more coming.”

Long-time friend and collaborator Snoop Dogg took the stage to praise Dre, jokingly thanking himself before acknowledging Dre’s immense influence on his career. Snoop described Dre as his “teacher, mentor, brother, guardian, protector, and most importantly a good friend,” emphasizing their collaborative magic in the studio and the lasting impact of their work on the music world.

The historic event saw the presence of other prominent figures including Eminem, 50 Cent, Jimmy Iovine, and more, who came to celebrate Dre’s achievements. Dr. Dre’s star now occupies the 2,775th spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, joining the ranks of fellow hip-hop icons such as 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Nipsey Hussle, Tupac Shakur, and others.

Later that evening, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to share their thoughts on the event. The trio also starred in a humorous skit titled “Dre’s Anatomy” alongside Eminem, adding to the memorable celebration of Dr. Dre’s illustrious career.
