In an unexpected and exciting turn of events, rapper Drake and NBA legend Kevin Durant made a surprise visit to the University of Texas’ basketball teams. The visit took place on Tuesday, September 12, in Austin, Texas, as college sports season kicked off.

Drake’s presence in Austin was part of his “It’s All A Blur Tour,” which featured a concert on Monday, September 11. The Toronto native performed at the Moody Center and made a special appearance during his show by inviting Kevin Durant to join him on stage. This marked Drake’s first concert in Austin in approximately eight years, making it a memorable night for fans.


Following the concert, Kevin Durant spent time with the university’s men’s basketball team during their practice session. Durant, a veteran power forward for the Phoenix Suns, showcased his skills on the court, bringing back memories of his remarkable 2006-2007 season with the Longhorns. During that season, KD led the team to a 25-10 record with an impressive average of 25.8 points per game.

On the same day, Drake visited the women’s basketball team in their locker room, lifting their spirits. A video shared on the university’s social media platforms captured the excitement of the players. Notably, Drake donned a No. 23 Texas jersey, which is currently worn by junior player Aaliyah Moore.

The surprise visit coincided with the announcement of a pre-release single from Drake’s upcoming project, “For All the Dogs,” set to hit streaming platforms on September 22. In a clip shared on social media, Drake expressed his gratitude to the fans and hinted at dropping a new song for them ahead of the album’s release.
